WARREN JAMES has been dancing since he was 3 yrs old. He trained at Laine Theatre Arts in Surrey, England, where he graduated with a teacher's diploma in modern dance and a musical theatre diploma. His credits include shows such as 42nd Street, Bugsy Malone, What A Feeling, Smokey Joes Cafe, Grease, Fosse, and Oliver, to name a few. Cruise ships, Theme parks, UK National tours, and West End in London, England (which is the equivalent to Broadway in NY). Warren was the resident choreographer for "New Pantomime" production for 10 years, putting his original choreography to shows such as Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Dick Whittington, and Jack and The Beanstalk. He also choreographed a new show called "The Peppermint Lounge" based on the birth of the twist which became a national UK tour. Warren has taught dance classes since he was 16 years old. Since coming to the United States in 2003, Warren has taught for Reach Out And Dance program, an outreach program of the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet in private/public schools. He has taught dance classes in recreational centers, private/public schools and dance studios. Since moving to Florida, Warren has taught dance, musical theatre and acting classes for all ages in Brandon and St. Petersburg. In his spare time, when he's not with his wife and son, Victor; Warren loves to have a 'kick about of footie with his blokes'.
MELISSA MITCHELL grew up in Phoenix, Arizona dreaming of becoming a ballerina. She trained at the Phoenix School of Ballet and School of Ballet Arizona and got her first taste of the stage as a member of the junior ballet company Ballet Etudes. Melissa spent her summers attending the Boston Ballet and Walnut Hill summer programs on scholarship as well as the Kirov Academy in Washington D.C. Melissa graduated high school at 16 and joined Ballet Arizona, where she ate, slept, and lived dance. She has performed in works by George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Ib Andersen, Michael Uthoff, and Moses Pendelton, as well as a number of classic ballets such as Giselle, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty. Melissa is a military wife and a mother to a little girl, named Bonnie. After becoming a wife and mother, Melissa then went on to dance with Scorpius Dance' Company performing in the annual A Vampire's Tale and touring with the company to New Orleans. In January 2010, Melissa relocated to Florida for her husbands work. Melissa is excited to teach all ages at SoDaPA and brings a wealth of technical dance expertise as well as a vibrant personality.
